 Who Are We?

The Craigville Cottage Owners Association (CCOA) is a voluntary association of homeowners in Craigville Village committed to maintaining Craigville’s beauty and character and promoting its well-being. Cooperates with the Christian Camp Meeting Association (CCMA) in matters of mutual interest and concern.

Membership is open to all Craigville property owners. There are 115 cottages in our village.

What Do We Do?

Throughout the year, we maintain Craigville’s beauty and character and promote its well-being. We share with the CCMA the costs of village maintenance, including security, lighting, plowing, and upkeep of common areas such as the Green, playground and its corner gardens, and the ball field on the Bluff. We also team with the Red Lily Pond Project Association (RLPP) to preserve the health of our ponds. The Craigville Chronicle, our seasonal newsletter, keeps residents connected with the community. We maintain funds for road resurfacing and emergencies such as blizzards and hurricanes.

The summer season is special for us. It begins with our annual CCOA Icebreaker, where cottage owners meet to share food and drink, greet old friends, and welcome new residents. Our Fourth of July Celebration features a bustling bike parade through our streets and patriotic gathering on the Village Green.  Illumination Night is a mid-summer event when cottage owners light up their homes in a magical manner. It is a delightful evening of strolling, music, and sharing. We also sponsor Halloween in July, food trucks on the Bluff, movie nights at the Tabernacle, and other special events for our children

Craigville Village Guidelines

The Village seeks to maintain a quiet family environment in conjunction with Craigville Retreat Center activities.  We all live in close proximity, so kindly obey the 15-mph speed limit throughout our roads, refrain from littering and observe our designated quiet hours.

A few reminders:

Quiet Hours: From 10 pm to 8 am daily. We have summer security to help keep these hours observed.

Cars, bikes, and trucks: With many young children walking, biking or skateboarding, please obey the 15-mph speed limit, as well as all STOP signs and ONE-WAY streets.  Bikers and skateboarders must observe all traffic regulations as well.

Playground Hours: Swings and slide are provided for young children for use from 8 am to 10 pm.

Tennis Hours: Use of the tennis courts is restricted from 8 am to 8 pm. Craigville Tennis Club members and Retreat Center guests may arrange court time at the Tennis Shack.

Parking: Cars should be parked out of the traffic lane, and not on both sides of a narrow road. Resident parking only locations must be observed and are clearly marked. The Bluff parking lot is for Retreat Center guests only; the Tabernacle parking lot is available to be utilized whenever possible.

Dogs: The Town of Barnstable requires that dogs must be on leash when off their property. Dogs are not allowed on the Green, or on The Midway (unless they live there.) There are doggie trash stations placed throughout the Village, please use.

Outdoor Fires: Proximity and age of Village buildings makes fire our most feared disaster. Please exercise extreme caution and be alert to the direction barbecue smoke or fumes take. Open fires are prohibited.

Outdoor Fertilizer/Phosphate Use: Please do not use products that contain nitrogen or phosphates as they promote unwanted weed growth in Red Lily Pond and Lake Elizabeth. Feeding the ducks and swans is prohibited.

Historic Post Office: No longer a federal operation, the sale of gifts, clothing and cottage sundries support our historic building. Open from 8:30am to 12:30pm summer weekdays and Saturdays.
